DURING OUR SUMMER MONTHS WE FISH PRIMARILY ON THE KLAMATH RIVER:
The Klamath is a California jewel, produces Steelhead year round, and is one of the most productive rivers in the state. Our Steelhead season typically starts in July, when the first adults of the summer run return from the Pacific Ocean and begin their remarkable journey upstream. The Klamath also features a phenomenal “half-pounder” run to keep anglers busy. Your trip starts literally steps outside of our lodge on our private docks. We will embark up-river on a 24 ft Boice Jet Boat; trips can go as far as 30 miles up stream. Along the way, spot bald eagles and black bears amongst the pristine landscape. Lunch is included, usually consisting of wild caught salmon, smoked just for you at Gold River Lodge.Generally we use a 6-7 weight rod with a floating line and a intermediate sink tip. When the sun comes up and the fish hunker down we switch to our intermediate sink tip with clear line. We encourage clients to use what they are comfortable with. Swinging, indicator fishing, or spey rods are welcome for use, although you can’t beat hooking into an adult Steel head on the swing.
DURING OUR WINTER MONTHS WE FISH PRIMARILY ON THE SMITH AND CHETCO RIVERS:
The Smith and Chetco Rivers are absolute jewels and produce some of the cleanest water sheds in the lower 48 states The steelhead that hit these waters are world class and can weigh as much as 27 lbs. These trips usually take place under cooler weather conditions, but the rewards are well worth it! We’ll either fish out of our drift boat, guide raft, or hike in to some prime locations. After a day of fishing we’ll return to the Lodge for a warm meal and reminisce around the fire for a perfect ending to the day.

We offer packages which include single occupancy, meals and guided fishing. We cook some of our meals on the water, provide all the gear, and have two guides.
Per person
3 nights lodging/meals and 2 days fishing $1295
4 nights lodging/meals and 3 days fishing $1895
5 nights lodging/meals and 4 days fishing $2495
Our non angler rates for additional guests are $139 a day which includes lodging, meals, and an opportunity to set up exploring with a local hiking guide.
